About Us

ACQUIRE stands for Access, Quality, and Use in Reproductive Health. The mandate of the project is to advance and support reproductive health (RH) and family planning (FP) services, focusing on facility-based care. Three targeted results (PDF, 4.5KB) for ACQUIRE are to:

Increase access to quality RH/FP services
Improve performance of service-delivery providers
Strengthen the environment for RH/FP service delivery

The ACQUIRE Project takes a uniquely holistic approach. ACQUIRE seeks to improve the quality of RH services by providing technical leadership on clinical care, advancing the state of the art in clinical services. At the same time, ACQUIRE recognizes that community participation is integral to increasing utilization of RH/FP and links communities to the services provided.

The ACQUIRE Project is engaged in partnerships and collaborations at the regional and local levels and is well positioned to tackle the challenges of RH/FP. Through global leadership and field-level activities, we are addressing such issues as the discontinuation of contraceptive use, integration of FP services with HIV and AIDS care, the provision of services to women with fistula, and a focus on underserved populations, such as men.
